Analysis of the movie Ratatouille

  Angles & Shots: This film uses a medium shot and close-up because the movie usually shows the story from the waist up. The angle used is the eye level.


  Camera movements: in this movie the use of a lot of camera movement as pan, tilt and zoom.
  Background: The scenes take place in a typical kitchen of a French restaurant, is a dialogue between Linguini and Colette, an everyday scene in which both perform activities of kitchen.


  Lighting: in this movie the light effects are diegetic because it is an animation so the only light is what is supposed to have the work and are fully edited footage so we can say that is naturalistic because it makes representations of a natural background.

  Decoration: Within the basic accessories of the film are the kitchen tools, the setting of the famous restaurant kitchen, sinks, walls, and kitchen lights make us travel to a place where they prepare food friendly quality. Among the accessories of the characters out of costume that characterized the predominant accessories that help the scenes have to do with cookware, containers, knife, tables, shovels and the actions carried out in this scene must action related to food preparation.


  Costume: seeks to represent the office of the characters, kitchen assistants, using typical chef coats hats, discrete but are not to infer that is slightly baggy clothes. At the end of their activities in the kitchen the characters look casual clothes outside.

  Makeup: one can say that this film uses a neutral makeup, then describes the characters and what does her makeup on each.


  Sound (diágolo, ambientasl noise, background music and silence)

  Dialogue: This scene shows a dialogue between Colette and Remy, practically a monologue in which Collette tries to explain all he knows of Gusteau and practices that are used in the restaurant, seems to boast of their knowledge

  Environmental noise: noise that accompany these images are typical of a kitchen in a restaurant, hitting pots, knives, water, etc..
  Silence: there are very few marked silence in this scene, small and fast, denoting doubt Remy.

  Background music: in this scene, Colette gives Remy a lot of information at high speed, the music serves as the perfect, having a fast-paced instrumental music.

  Synopsis  


  A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a profession that hates the rats. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely and certainly unwanted visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris.

  Artistic biography of the director

      Branden Bird is an U.S. animation director, screenwriter and filmmaker. He had worked as an animator in movies as “Animalympics” and “The plague dogs”. And since 1987 he started to work just as director and screenwriter. He did a total of 13 movies, and we can mention as the most important movies of his career: Ratatouille, The incredible and The iron giant.

     A Reforma journalist says that ratatouille is the most original movie of the summer 2007. Is considered as a film that include in an ingenious and emotive way the magic that is represented in the disposition of two characters that discover the value of a generous friendship because both of them trust in each other. Finally says that Ratatouille is a story with an extraordinary use of animation effects characterized by an amazing realism. (Nuñez, 2007).

And Remi who is looking for being accepted just as he is by his family, looks to be a time for challenge but also the chance to achieve a goal.

2012 Now a day it continues to be a really
challenging world, everybody is looking for having a job. But is such a great
lesson for every person that watches this movie because society needs to look  for their dreams. Paris is still being a good city to travel and have beautiful food and romantic stories.
